Agus Joyo Sutono, a contract-based government teacher at SD Dua Jati Kulon in Jati District, Kudus Regency, has been teaching for over two decades. He recently shared his appreciation for the improvements in the distribution of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) during President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Agus emphasized that the disbursement of TPG has become more efficient, accurate, and transparent, making it simpler for teachers nationwide to receive their allowances.

Having commenced his teaching career in 2003 and officially becoming a PPPK teacher in 2023, Agus considers his professional journey a pivotal moment in terms of recognition and motivation to enhance his teaching quality. While he has been receiving TPG since 2011, it was only this year that he observed a significant enhancement in the distribution system. Agus highlighted that the new method of direct central transfers to teachers’ accounts has streamlined the process and boosted efficiency.

Agus views TPG not only as a financial incentive but also as a symbol of trust and state backing for the teaching profession. He lauded the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and President Prabowo for the innovative policy that has simplified the distribution process. Besides supporting his family, Agus also utilizes the TPG for his own educational pursuits, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in primary school education.

In addition to personal use, Agus showcases solidarity by assisting non-civil servant teaching staff and contributing to school activities using a portion of his TPG allowance. He envisions that the new policy should become a permanent standard to uphold the welfare and professional work of dedicated teachers. Agus expresses optimism that the TPG will remain beneficial for teachers, contributing to the advancement of a better Indonesia.
