Cleetus McFarland recently shared a video on his Facebook page, revealing that NASCAR has not granted approval for him to run superspeedways in the O’Reilly Series. While expressing disappointment, Cleetus acknowledged the need for more experience, highlighting his intention to participate in more ARCA and Truck races to improve his skills. Despite his setbacks, including spinning out during a race, Cleetus remains determined to learn and grow in the sport. The decision from NASCAR was not entirely unexpected, as Richard Childress Racing’s Danny Lawrence had hinted at the possibility of further races to showcase Cleetus’ capabilities. NASCAR’s EVP John Probst also emphasized the importance of Cleetus gaining more experience on short tracks before being approved for larger events like Daytona and Talladega. Ultimately, Cleetus remains optimistic about his future in NASCAR and is committed to putting in the necessary work to achieve his goals.
