Formula E has officially introduced the Gen4 car, a groundbreaking innovation in electric racing technology. This new vehicle boasts a top speed of 208mph and a staggering peak output of 804bhp, representing a significant leap in performance compared to its predecessor. It features an all-wheel-drive system and is the first single-seater car to be 100% recyclable. Additionally, the Gen4 car will see a change in tire supplier, with Bridgestone taking over from Hankook.
Set to debut in the 2026/27 racing season, the Gen4 car marks a new era for Formula E, ushering in higher levels of performance previously thought impossible for electric vehicles. The launch event at Circuit Paul Ricard showcased the car’s capabilities and generated excitement among attendees. Six manufacturers, including Porsche, Jaguar, and Stellantis, are tasked with refining the Gen4 car to achieve even greater performance standards.
