Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Kwik Kian Gie’s family before paying his respects in front of the chamber where the deceased was laid to rest. Kwik Kian Gie, known for advocating Pancasila-based economics, passed away at the age of 90 on July 28, 2025. President Prabowo viewed Kwik not only as an economist but also as a close friend and mentor who provided valuable insights for the nation’s development. Reflecting on their personal connection, Prabowo mentioned the meaningful advice and perspectives Kwik shared with him over the years. Even in his final days, Kwik remained actively engaged, offering suggestions and thoughts to the President. President Prabowo expressed his condolences, acknowledging the loss of one of Indonesia’s finest sons.
