Two young Pacu Jalur performers, Wirotirta and Aryana, were filled with joy during the Independence Day celebrations at Merdeka Palace as they had the opportunity to perform before President Prabowo Subianto. Their wide smiles and enthusiastic voices echoed their gratitude for the unforgettable experience of shaking hands with the President. Dressed in traditional Malay attire, the synchronized and energetic movements of the Pacu Jalur children captivated the audience and showcased the pride of regional culture on a national stage.
The festive spirit of the Independence Day celebration continued with a pencak silat troupe demonstrating their martial arts skills, followed by action star Iko Uwais performing the traditional Indonesian art of self-defense. The celebrations reached a graceful conclusion with the enchanting Tari Payung Merah Putih (Red-and-White Umbrella Dance), enriching the atmosphere of the event. President Prabowo’s kindness and the children’s innocent wishes for his well-being and blessings added a heartwarming touch to the festivities.
