Prabowo Meets King Philippe of Belgium at Laeken Palace: A Historic Meeting

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, had a meeting with King Philippe Leopold Louis Marie of Belgium at the Royal Palace of Laeken in Brussels on Sunday. The two leaders had a cordial meeting and even posed for an official photo session in the historic building. President Prabowo expressed his gratitude to King Philippe, and the King responded warmly. They then proceeded to have a private one-on-one meeting. President Prabowo was accompanied by his Cabinet Secretary and the Ambassador of Indonesia to Belgium. This meeting with King Philippe was the last in a series of high-level engagements during President Prabowo’s state visit to Belgium. After the meeting, King Philippe personally bid farewell to President Prabowo as he departed for Brussels Airport to continue his journey to Paris, France. Earlier in Brussels, President Prabowo had important diplomatic meetings with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa, focusing on finalizing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to strengthen economic ties between Indonesia and the European Union.
